Hello everyone

What a fantastic exhibition – the third in a really busy year after the Second International Watercolour Exhibition Fremantle and the “Exploring Watercolour” exhibition at the WA Shipwrecks Museum. Everyone concerned did an amazing job – thank you to our members, your families and everyone else involved. Congratulations to all our award winners and to all those who exhibited – once again, several people told me this exhibition just gets better every year – that is exactly what we like to hear! In what we are being told are difficult times, we did incredibly well – see the award winners on page. A huge thank you also to Amit and Megha Kapoor for their workshops and for judging the exhibition – never an easy job…….

“Exploring Watercolour” at The WA Shipwrecks Museum comes to an end on Sunday 30th October so please come to the Museum on Monday 31 October between 9.30 and 11.30 to collect your paintings. This has also been a very exciting and successful exhibition with many great comments. The Junior Watercolour workshops held by 5 of our members were very well received during the school holidays, as were the Watercolour Meditation classes and the “A Feminine History of Watercolour” talk. Thank you so much to everyone who exhibited, organised, was involved and visited took part in the exhibition – great job everyone!

Jane Zandi has pulled out all the stops and has organised a couple of models for the October Guest Hour – they will be in Indian Saris – so make sure you bring your paints and/or drawing gear and take advantage of this colourful session.

After the final meeting for the year on Tuesday 15 November, we will have our Christmas lunch from 12.30 to 2.30. Please book at the meeting on Tuesday (18 October) and pay either at the meeting or by bank transfer. This is most important so we know the numbers to give the caterer. There will be lots of games, quizzes and prizes so please join us – a great way to end the year.

Finally, we are also looking forward to our Annual Getaway from 21-28 October in Dwellingup. If you are not coming on the Hotham Valley Restaurant train and are coming along anyway for one or 7 days, please let me know so I can send you a copy of the itinerary. There are actually 2 spare tickets for the restaurant train so if you would like to come on Saturday, 22 October, please let me know on 0402521144.

Thank you again everyone – it has been an amazing year!
