Bennett, June

June has always had a love of drawing and painting and studied Art to Leaving level (year 12) and completed Cert 3 in elements of drawing at Tafe.  She also has had tutoring in watercolour  and has attended many workshops with some top artists who specialise in the medium.

Originally from the wheatbelt, June enjoys painting Australian landscapes  and having married a surfer and had three sons,  the West Australian coast and seascapes are also favourite scenes to paint.

June is primarily a watercolourist and loves the medium for its transparency and subtle colours.

Her aim is to continue her passion with watercolour and to never stop learning different ways to use this beautiful medium.

However, there is a desire expand into using other mediums being predominately acrylic, collage and pushing the boundaries towards abstraction.

June is an active member of the Watercolour society of WA and  is enjoying her involvement with the group. June organises annual workshops for the members.

She is also a member of Alfred Cove Art Society, Melville   Community Arts Center and Artzplace.

Her paintings grace walls in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. In the words of Van Gough painters understand nature and love her, and teach us to see her.
