Bennett, June

June is predominately a watercolour artist, as she loves the transparency and subtle nature of the medium. Whatever an artist wishes to paint, it can all be achieved with the magic of watercolour. It is also a lot of fun once you get to understand the medium.

Watercolour painting is also was a wonderful way to create and express your inner feelings and to paint the subject matter that appeals to you.

June has a love of the ocean and enjoys painting seascapes local to the coastal areas of Western Australia. She finds great pleasure in predominately painting scenes that she is familiar with. The challenge of painting water and surrounding subjects is always present as the ocean can change so dramatically very quickly.

Rocks, boats, sand, seaside plants, jetties, people all add interest to seascapes painting.  So it is never boring and the challenge is always present.

Australian country scenes, including animals, vineyards, country houses are also something she loves to paint.

She has learnt and studied skills from many workshops and classes with well known and respected watercolour artists and has had the patience to just keep her brushes busy as that is the only way to improve. June is now an award winning artist.

Her art graces the walls of many homes both in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and America.

“Painters understand nature and love her, and teach us to see her”
