From the President

Greetings watercolourists

Great thanks to Stef who has worked hard while I was visiting the US and family. She has done an amazing job in my absence.

Congratulations to all who have participated in the Blue Exhibition – our paintings will look magnificent in the lovely WA Shipwrecks gallery space. This is an important opportunity to promote our medium within a government facility and maintain a presence in Fremantle. So well done all. Please all do get down there to have a look and take art loving friends with you. Please support and participate in the workshops where you can.

The monthly plein air sessions are underway and a wonderful way to spend time once a month together painting somewhere different every month. Thanks to the organisers so far.

Army art have declared that they are working with us to bring watercolours to serving personnel, veterans and their families. Veterans’ workshops are starting in Rockingham in the near future. Serving personnel at Irwin and Pearce are also about to start. This relationship is important with the armed forces as we put and promote watercolours in the lives of those who have and still do serve our country. The Army art exhibition will be in October this year.

A big welcome to our new committee member Sheree Dohnt. Sheree is a relatively new member and comes with much experience in the art world.

Keep the brushes wet!   JZ
