President’s Report November 2024

What a great time was had by all who went to York this year for the annual getaway!

A wonderful, detailed and carefully curated itinerary was put together with different opportunities each day for our members and friends on the getaway.  We painted around Hillside where the majority of people were staying. This involved beautiful architecture, rolling hills, hay and hay bales as well as old machinery and bits and pieces around the property.  There was no shortage of things to inspire all artists. This was where we started painting on the first morning.

Carl Altmann has been invited to be our Patron and has accepted with no hesitation whatsoever.  This will help grow our medium and profile out in the community.  An article will appear on the website about him in the near future.

The Christmas Party will be on the 17th December, please go to the members only section to register for this so that Ros has exact numbers for catering.  Please pay $20 into the bank account with your name and Christmas party.   There will be fun and games and entertainment at the party.  If you need help to register online please ask at the next meeting for assistance.  We are happy to help.

From the survey that we are still working through, it was suggested that we have social paint outs and have activities on the weekend for those members who work during the week.  Consequently, we will have a plein air paint out on the first weekend of the month, alternating between Saturday and Sunday.  Different members will set the location each month and you will find the details and contact number on the monthly calendar.  Everyone is welcome to join in.  If you are new to plein air and you would like the help of a buddy, please let your organiser know so they can buddy you up with an experienced plein air painter.  I will be organising the first one on 7th December 9am at Perth City Farm.  (Free parking at TAFE next door) – hope to see you there.

Keep the brushes wet!   JZ
