Sandy has a recognisable style of painting in watercolour which embraces the true watercolour look while at the same time being colourful and contemporary.

Subjects include landscapes, buildings, cityscapes, flowers and still-life. Many of these subjects are started plein-air and then completed in her studio.

She has travelled and tutored for overseas and interstate art tours which has given her diverse subject matter to explore in paint and a continuing fellowship with other painters.

Although dedicated to watercolour she is now fulfilling her desire to keep her watercolours contemporary by experimenting in the other water based medium of gouache. Recently she has included very strong and then soft lines to enhance her style and then playing with the use of textures to add volume to her paintings.

She has won many awards including trophies with the Watercolour Society of W.A. Alfred Cove Art Society and Melville Community Arts Assn. The Cockburn City Council and East Fremantle City Council have her paintings in their collections

Sandy has membership with the Watercolour Society Of W.A. Melville Community Arts Association, Alfred Cove Art Society and Canning Arts Group of which Sandy is a life member. She has a Diploma of Fine Art, painted portraits in oils for many years and started her career in art as a China Painter where she was a prominent member in the three associations related to this fine art.
