Beverley was born in Bunbury, living there until she was 18 when her parents moved to Mt Pleasant. Her artistic ability was noticed throughout her school years, but it was not until the late 1980’s when she enrolled in a Diploma of Fine Arts at Fremantle Technical School that her appreciation of art and art history truly began. Further studies with Larry Mitchell and other well known artists followed and she began exhibiting, firstly in mixed exhibitions and then solo exhibitions in the late nineties. She has exhibited in a number of galleries in Perth and Brisbane, with interstate and international sales.

In 1995 Beverley had her first solo exhibition at ‘Inside Out design Gallery’ in Mount Pleasant, later joining the staff and promoting original art works by holding regular exhibitions for a variety of Western Australian artists.

Inspiration is derived from various sources including travels to Europe and throughout Australia. Beverley has won many awards, more recently she won 1st Prize for Watercolour in Alfred Cove Art Society’s, ‘Awards of Excellence’ in 2016 and 2018.

The majority of Beverley’s paintings are commissions. Being a keen gardener, Beverley is known for her large floral studies and is renowned for her depth and strength of colour, unusual for the medium. Her work was once described as “full of emotive images”.

An active member of the Alfred Cove Art Society, she was acknowledged recently with Life Membership for her dedication in promoting the Society and helping other artists display their works at local restaurants. She has assisted in curating many exhibitions for the Society and was involved when the Society won the Daler Rowney World Award in 2002, with one of her paintings being selected.

Beverley was accepted into the Watercolour Society of WA as a full member in 2009.
