A love of watercolour and the desire to capture the beauty of our environment and flora in that medium has inspired Janine to paint – a hobby she took up after retirement.

Janine is basically self taught but has attended watercolour workshops in WA, Victoria and overseas to learn techniques. She paints “plein air” once a week in locations around Perth and travels fairly regularly to the south-west and other Western Australian areas to paint. Photographs from those plein air sessions are utilised in the studio for further studies.
She has travelled extensively overseas to paint, both in Europe, the Middle East and Canada. In recent times she has been fortunate enough to rent accommodation in small villages in the South of France and Italy and has enjoyed spending time getting to know the locals and becoming involved in the area, and painting.

Janine has been involved in three solo and 8 joint exhibitions and her works are sold through local art galleries, such as Monet in Guildford, Boranup, Finishing Touch Gallery and Wills Domain, to name a few. She is an award winning artist who has been published in the Australian Artist Magazine. She also participates in many local charitable art exhibitions and her paintings are represented in private collections in Australia and overseas. She is a member of the WA Society of Arts and the Watercolour Society of WA.
