Upcoming Joint Exhibition

One of our newest members, Ren Douglas is taking part in the Margaret River Region Open Studios Exhibition.

Born in the Netherlands, raised in Canada and now living in Western Australia for more than twenty years has given Ren the desire to look at the world with eyes which see beyond the surface appearance.

Through watercolours, she explores every rock, every leaf, every object shining in every ray of light. Watercolours as a medium, allows her to play with intense colour while capturing light. The colour literally floats in water while the light shines through from the paper. The drama of vivid tones living next to bright light and the endless details that go beyond representational art just captivate her. They are her passion as she paints.

Highlights of past years include membership in the Federation of Canadian Artists, teaching art both in Canada and Western Australia and The Northern Territory and taking part in various exhibitions on both sides of the globe. Her hope is that viewers of her watercolours will be enticed into each painting and each dramatic story of colour and light.

This is her first time participating in MRROS and she is excited to welcome visitors in the courtroom of the ArtGeo Cultural Complex on Queen Street in Busselton. She hopes that viewers of her watercolours will be enticed into each dramatic story of colour and light. Please come and visit! MRROS Event Guides with maps and artist info are available at all Jackson’s Art Supplies store.
