Renata Wright is an Australian born artist who has had a love of art, crafts and creativity all her life, inspired by her father Karel Srb who was a saddler and leatherworker by trade, and her mother Brigitte who has been her constant supporter. Renata is mainly self-taught but has attended various courses run by professional award winning artists who have all inspired her in one way or another. One of Renata’s biggest inspirations came from attending Avondale College in New South Wales in 1988 when studying for a Bachelor of Education majoring in Art. During that year, one of Renata’s teachers, Bruce Durrant, introduced her to the wonderful world of watercolour. It was after that year that watercolour became her favourite art medium and she set out to explore it further and develop her own style. Renata now exhibits and sells original works regularly, has received numerous commissions, and has work in private homes around the world. More of Renata’s work can also be seen on her new website – www.renatawrightart.net. She has also recently commenced watercolour painting classes in the Perth northern suburbs.
