 Biography

Image Pam's grandmother was an excellent watercolour artist who unfortunately never reached her full potential due to the times that she grew up in. Her cousin is a well known oil painter living and exhibiting on King Island Tasmania and other avenues.

Pam started off at school doing oil painting and was taught by Geoff Dwyer who won the Archibald prize a few years ago. Once leaving school she pursued other activities and didn't take up the paint brush again until around 1990, but this was in a very limited capacity which meant that improvement was slow.

It was during this time that she attended many of Tony Smibert’s weekend workshops and discovered her love or watercolours - and particularly admired Tonys work. She also attended night classes with Rosemary Mastnak. Both are well known Tasmanian Artists and Tony is recognized around the world in particular for his knowledge of Turners techniques.

Pam has exhibited in in Tasmania at the annual Scottsdale Art Exhibition, The Max Fry Exhibition, the Launceston Art Society exhibition and the Eskleigh Art Awards.

Since arriving in Perth in 2002 Pam has had the opportunity to pursue her passion in art and is currently a member of the Alfred Cove Art Society, MCAA– Atwell Gallery, Watercolour Society and the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts.

She has exhibited at the Arthritis Society Art Exhibition, Alfred Cove Art Society Awards of Excellence, MCAA exhibitions, Heathcote Art Gallery, Watercolour Society of WA, Victoria Park Centre for the Arts and recently the 208 Victoria Park Art Awards.

Pam also exhibits and works from the MCAA Artists Studios at Heathcote.

Pam teaches watercolour for beginners at the Atwell Gallery

Pams paintings can be found in private collections in Asia, England, America and in most parts of Australia.
