Beverley JOHNSON - Watercolour Society of WA Inc

Go to content

Beverley began a Diploma in Fine Arts at Fremantle TAFE in 1986., further studies followed in the 1990‘s at the Fremantle Arts Centre and Atwell Gallery. She decided to concentrate on watercolours because of the challenge they present and she felt that the medium suited her unique style in floral studies.

She has had a lifelong interest in art and art appreciation. Being a keen gardener, Beverley enjoys painting flowers and wildlife, although seascapes and historic buildings are also favourites. Her painting of Magnolia Grandiflora was one of ten chosen by Alfred Cove Art Soc members to be submitted to an International Art Competition in London, which they won in 2002.

She has been influenced by various artists, in particular Larry Mitchell who encouraged her to exhibit.

She has undertaken commissions, including a number for overseas and interstate clients. She has also exhibited in Brisbane and Perth at various galleries. Currently Beverley is working mainly on private commissions.
